Any Indian kids in Lydiksen Elementary?

Hello Parents,
I am new member to this site. My family is planning to move to pleasanton in search of better schools for my 2 kids. A 4 yr old, who will join Kinder garten next year. And a 19 month old. We were looking at a property near stoneridge community, for which elementary would be Lydiksen. And Hart middle school.  I would like to know if there are decent number of indian kids going to that elementary? Also are there any indian day cares where I can send my little one to? Kindly reply and provide your valuable inputs. Since, that would help me decide if my family can move to this area or not.

Hi there,  we are a desi family moving to Trivalley region  and wanted to know of apartments in/around San Ramon with good desi community. We have 2 kids – age 3 and 5 – and hence want to be sure of (1) excellent elementary school and (2) reasonable play environment/company for kids.   Any suggestions or a short list to consider?   Thanks so much.

Diwali Festival and Fireworks at Alameda Fairgrounds

Come and Celebrate Diwali, the Festival of Lights on Saturday, October 26th at Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton, CA. Join thousands of people in the only Diwali festival with spectacular fireworks and a laser show. Enjoy cultural programs, Ram-leela, a dazzling parade, animal rides, a petting zoo, delicious food and a live music concert.

  • Time: 11am – 11pm
  • Presented By: FIA and Fremont Hindu Temple
  • Cost: Adult $5, Children 5 and up $5
  • Parking: $8

Bay Area cities, including Cupertino and Hayward, held Diwali festivities earlier this month, and another celebration is scheduled for Friday in Sunnyvale. Last year, about 10,000 people attended the inaugural festival and a similar-size crowd is expected this time at the fairgrounds. Traditional food and drink will be available, as well as booths offering arts and crafts and animal rides. A parade will begin at 5 p.m. Bollywood pop singer Harjeet Mehndi will perform live in a concert beginning at 7 p.m. The evening will culminate in a fireworks show, starting at 8:30 p.m.
Each year, Diwali is observed sometime between mid-October and mid-November. This year, its main day of observance is Nov. 3.

Hello: We are looking for a full time nanny for our 2 year old son and 5 year old daughter. Our daughter is in school from noon to 4. Timings for the job would be 8:00 to 6 on weekdays.

Responsibilities would include:
– Feeding the kids breakfast in the morning and general play/park time for the 2 year old and 5 year old right next to home
– Getting the 5 year old to school at noon after lunch – school is a 5 min walk or 2 min car ride. Have to take the 2 year old along as well.
– Bath and nap for 2 year old in the afternoon between 1 and 3. Time for kids laundry and kids room clean up – pick up toys, fold kids clothes etc
– 5 year old daughter is back home from school at 4, give her a bath and snack and supervise some homework etc.
– Help in preparing dinner for kids before departure
– Prefer car and driving ability with good driving record. If not, then getting to work and back on time needs to be ensured as both parents work and commute to the peninsula – so timing is sensitive.

Our existing nanny is leaving soon as we have recently moved from San Francisco to Danville and the commute from SF to Danville is too much for her. Namaste, I am a certified Yoga Therapist and have just moved back to Pleasanton from Bangalore. I have been teaching Yoga for the past 8 years.
I’m planning to start therapy classes for treating Diabetes, Stress reduction , Infertility, Prenatal etc.
On Oct.14th, I’m starting a new batch for ladies who are interested in toning up, lose abdominal fat and strengthen muscles. Regular hatha yoga practice has been proven to achieve these safely. Each class will have Asana practice, Praanayaama exercises and Meditation.

SanGaMa- theTrivalley Malayali (Kerala) group!

Due to our growth over the years, we have folks from all over tri-valley and hence we recently renamed our group to “SanGaMa” to mean gathering of Malayali community in the trivalley area.
