2020 Elementary Science Olympiad registration now open

Registration for the 2020 Castro Valley Elementary Science Olympiad is now OPEN! Science Olympiad is a competition where teams of 6 elementary school students (geared towards 4th-5th grade level) work together in 7 events.  They range from study events where students take a test, lab events where students demonstrate hands-on abilities, to build events where students build a device at home to test against other teams.
Team guidelines:

  • Parents act as coaches for their teams; they form teams within a school.
  • Teams are made of 1-6 students from the same school, must be in 5th grade or younger.   Teachers are welcome and encouraged to form teams within their school as a club.
  • Register online at cvscience.us to receive a copy of the rules, or to find more information.  Registration is limited to 32 teams.
  • Read the rules and work together prior to the competition, which will be held on May 16 at Canyon Middle School in Castro Valley.

An information session will be held on Sunday, Jan 5 from 10-11am in the Castro Valley High School Cafeteria.  Enter from the gates in the middle of Mabel Ave; the cafeteria will be the first building on your right.
