San Ramon Bah Humbug! 5K Family Run and Walk

Bah Humbug! 5KStart the holiday season off with a healthy fun run or walk through San Ramon. Participants will receive a holiday long sleeved shirt and the famous Bah Humbug Ornament! This year’s Bah Humbug will be a chip timed race on the certified 3.1 mile course. This is a fun, flat, family friendly paved route beginning at the San Ramon Community Center at Central Park, 12501 Alcosta Blvd. Race day registration begins at 7:30am and the race starts at 9am. Spread Holiday Cheer: Runners are requested to bring a can of food to be donated to the Contra Costa County Food Bank to assist thosein need during the holidays. Canned food donations will be collected at the registration table.

Costume Contest: Make sure to come dressed in costume and in the spirit of the run. Costume awards will be given for Most Grinch-Like, Best Holiday Spirit, and Best Group Theme!

Awards: Medals are given to the first three finishers in each age division. The Mayor’s Crown, which will award the lowest combined times of the 2015 Bah Humbug and 2016 Run San Ramon pre-registered 5K runner. The Mayor’s Crown winner will be recognized at the 2016 Run San Ramon 4th of July event.

Shirts & Ornaments: All pre-registered participants may receive their shirt prior to the event start at a packet pick up hosted by Sport’s Authority in San Ramon Thursday December 3rd from 11:30am to 7pm. All race day registrants and pre-registrants who wait to pick up will receive their shirts upon completion of the race on a “first come-first served” basis. Shirts are only guaranteed to pre-registered participants at the packet pick up. Ornaments are given out at the completion of the run.

Fundraiser for Nepal Earthquake relief on Nov 1st.

It has been 6 months since the devastating Earthquake in Nepal. More than 9000 people lost their lives and over 23,000 were injured.
Nepal, is one of Asia’s poorest countries, and has little ability to fund a major reconstruction effort on its own.
It is expected that rebuilding the economy will need international effort over the next few years as it could “easily exceed” USD$5 billion.

This is our small endeavor to help those who survived. We look forward to your support!

San Ramon based Indian Classical Dance school, along with local musicians, folk dance school and other artists from around the Bay Area are getting together for a Fundraiser Event, to present an evening of lively, energetic dances and melodious music, on Nov 1st, at Amador Valley Theater between 4.00-6.00pm. All proceeds will be donated to Sahayeta.org.

What do you do when you encounter a water leak or an electric issue that you need some assistance right away? I am a new home-owner of an old home and it now worries me what happens if something goes wrong.. So far, electricians and plumbers, they all say they are pretty much booked out whole week and I wonder if you have any recommendations for someone who can drop by with short notice so that I can have it handy.

We are looking for a responsible person to babysit our 3 yr old on a regular basis for 2-3 hours in the evenings on weekends and on some weeknights. At times we might ask you to handle our younger son, 1.5 yrs, at a higher per hour rate.
We are located in East Dublin. Sitter should have their own car and be able to arrive punctually.
– Coverage needed from 5-7 or 5-8 pm on Saturday/Sunday. Timings may vary slightly depending on our schedule. Duties will involve reading, playing board games and verbal communication skill-building with our son, feeding our son his dinner, park time etc.
