Become an Alameda County Master Gardener

The UC Master Gardener Program of Alameda County is seeking new applicants who reside in Alameda County to receive training during our 2019 New Volunteer Training Class;  a 16-week program that will run from January through April 2019.  Classes are taught by University advisors, local horticultural educators, and certified Master Gardeners on topics that range from the basics of horticulture, to integrated pest management and problem diagnosis, to growing and caring for edible and landscape plants. Gardening experience is not required.
Alameda County Master Gardeners support various including: Demonstration gardens in Albany, Fremont, Livermore and Oakland, various school garden programs,  garden problem solving and support  provided by phone and email from the Help Desk, and  through workshops
UC Master Gardeners volunteers are part of the University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE), an outreach and public service unit of the University of California, Division of Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR).
