Indian community in Dublin

Hello, We currently live in Alameda and are considering a move to Dublin. Does Dublin have a strong Indian community? How does it compare with Fremont? Is it easy to get into one’s first choice of elementary schools? Responses very much appreciated.
Many thanks in advance,
Meenakshi

  1. Hello Meenakshi,
Don’t know if you got much responses but I have been living in Dublin for the last 8 years and have seen the Indian community grow and grow and grow…we have Indian grocery stores / restaurants / movie theater that has started playing Indian movies 🙂 Dublin is ALL new and beautiful!!!

Also just in case you move this side and are looking for an after school day care for your kids….I am a licensed day care provider and pick up kids after school from Kolb elementary/John Green Or Dougherty Elementary schools. I have 5 kids from ages 6-10 so if you need help, pls feel free to call at 408 348 3415.

  2. Hi – if you live in Alameda, just drive down and Dublin with its new houses and well kept infrastructure and great schools is going to sound/feel much better. Fremont is a well located big city with islands of some great neighborhoods – but if you don’t live in specific areas, its not as exciting. There is a large Indian population in Fremont as well as new east Dublin hills. Over all Dublin is where people have been moving to, many after they pass Fremont. Area around Hacienda is great – good shopping, entertainment, etc. Bart and easy freeway access gives it great connectivity.
Elementary and Middle schools in Dublin are top notch, and hopefully High will get there. Elementary school choice is, as usual, based on where you live. But all are great schools, especially on East side. There is some over crowding of late. Some school boundaries are being redrawn. Also mobile classrooms have been added. But city claims it has a plan as the city grows.
Now, I am sure you would also look at Pleasanton and San Ramon.
