Free Public Speaking Classes for Middle Schoolers

I’m the President of Dublin’s high school debate team.
I’m hosting speech classes for students who want to develop public speaking skills from 4 pm – 5 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting February 22. These classes are online and available to anyone, regardless of where they live, as long as the children are in grades 6-8.
These classes will help middle schoolers develop important presentation skills that are vital to high school, and eventually workforce performance. This is increasingly important, especially with the extension of online school. The goal of these classes is to prepare students who want to focus on STEM-focused disciplines in high school and beyond with communication skills.
We’ll focus on the importance of public speaking, how to get rid of filler words and stutters, how to develop credibility, and culminate with having the kids give a comprehensive, professional presentation on a topic they research and develop.

Free Speech and Debate Help for Middle Schoolers!

Do you want your child to improve their confidence with public speaking? Are you looking to further their middle-school-debate skills?

I’m the president of the local high school debate team and I’m going to be hosting biweekly speech-and-debate help sessions throughout the end of June and July for middle-schoolers — from beginners to competitors — to improve their organization, presentation, and argumentative skills.

These lessons will be up-front in person (online) and go over topics such as how to build a proper speech, how to use and attack logical fallacies, and how to ease into a career as a competitor in a high-school program. They’ll also go over proper presentation skills and how to speak slowly and clearly. These skills are increasingly essential in a world that depends on face-to-face communication, even if your child isn’t particularly interested in competitive activity.
